Our Story and History

A little word about us, your new friends, might be appropriate. While our company is young, the story of The Lapland Standard began back in the 1990s. During the early days of Lapland’s tourism, our three founders had their first encounters with the industry. What they witnessed, however, often left them sad. They saw a business that too often prioritized volume over value, sacrificing the authentic Lapland in the process.

In response to what they witnessed, a shared mission took root and grew for nearly three decades: a commitment to offering something more genuine. This philosophy, which would become "The Lapland Standard," was built on safety, authenticity, locality, personalization, and deep respect for our culture, nature, and people. When the founders finally united, the partnership was effortless, as their values were already perfectly aligned. A simple idea was clear at the very beginning, and it remains our guide today: "Let's forget business as usual. Let's do better, our own way."

When our paths separate at the end of your travel, it will not be the end for us; the friendship continues.
